Genealogy (Larousse): feminine noun (from Greek genos race and logos science). Continuation, enumeration of one's ancestors. The science of tracing family origins and lineage.
Genealogy (according to MT Granger-Thomas): a very dangerous virus, because although we know how to catch it (and not always, it's very sneaky), there's no known cure, apart from prolonged stays in town halls, departmental archives, etc...
This site is dedicated to the genealogy virus contracted by Marie-Thérèse in 1994. Since then, like any self-respecting genealogist, she has never stopped tracing back as far as possible in the footsteps of our ancestors, but also tracing down all the new branches discovered, in order to find as many contemporary cousins as possible. What could be nicer than discovering that you're related to your best friend or a celebrity! This quest explains the size of our tree, which now numbers 45,870 people.
This site is intended as a natural complement to our tree published on the GeneaNet site, providing additional information and describing our genealogical approach and progressive historical discoveries.
Welcome to the
the genealogical site of Marie-Thérèse and Marc Granger-Thomas.
